Pilot and Operation Sites
In the area of this pilot site, the project aims to improve both urban and rural mobility and support connections between exurbs living areas and urban cores. The main focus is the integration of public and private transport with implementation of: V2X services to favour Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) travel time; modal shift incentives based on real-time information about P+R availability, PT schedules and air quality; road safety improvement on interurban and suburban roads. A “Smart Campus” testbed is built to assess before deployment, including a corridor of ten urban crossroads to test improvements to the ‘Signalised Intersection’ service and traffic optimisation.
